RYERTEX® Phenolics.... strong, stable, durable

Unbleached medium-weave cotton fabric makes this one of the most popular phenolic laminates. Strong and tough, with outstanding compressive strength and good machinability. Excellent wear and abrasion resistance with low coefficient of friction. Also stocked with graphite addition (Ryertex CG), reducing the need for lubricants.

This popular thermosetting plastic holds its strength throughout its 248°F safe-operating range. It doesn't soften with heat, and thermal expansion is minimal. Ryertex combines the tensile strength of nylon with unbeatable compressive strength. Layers of woven cotton fabric, saturated in phenolic resins, are fused under heat and pressure into one of the most durable plastics. Has excellent wear and abrasion resistance with a low coefficient of friction. Extremely resistant to organic solvents.

Widely used for machining bearings and bushings using oil or grease lubrication. The graphite content permits its use under conditions of boundary lubrication and is a replacement for brass and bronze in many applications. Ryertex C-Graphite bushings give long life, low friction and freedom from shaft scoring. Can be used under higher loads than thermoplastic bearing materials.
Code I Grade CG, Tubing Tolerances Code I is supplied oversize on the OD and undersize on the ID with sufficient allowance for machining.
